Simmontown Road Barn Fire

9/26/2022 @ 13:38 p.m. Station 52 along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to 1081 Simmontown Road for a reported barn fire.
Engine 521 & Engine-Tanker 52 were on the street within minutes arriving at 13:45. Deputy Chief Lofgren ( Duty 52 ) assumed command
reporting working fire in a 2nd story kitchen area. Engine 521 layed in the driveway ( 400 feet 5" supply line ) then stretched a 200 & 300 ft.
1.75" attack lines while Engine-Tanker 52 picked up the water supply. Fire was quickly knocked down with incident marked under control @
13:51 p.m. PSP fire marshal determined the cause to be a propane leak ignited by a pilot lite in the oven. Total fire loss $ 100,000.
