| The Christiana Fire Company has recently placed into service a new brush truck, which replaced our aging 1969 Dodge Power Wagon. The Power Wagon was purchase new by the company in 1969 and it has served us well over the past 40 years.
The updated Brush 5-2 is a 2002 Ford F-250 standard cab, long bed pickup truck purchased used from Apple Auto Sales.
The water tank, pump and hand tools were transferred from the old Power Wagon, onto the new Ford by several fire company members.
A new emergency lighting package was install on the new Brush by TRM911 of Boyertown, Pa. This part of the project was funded by PEMA grant money.
Several new suspension components were also donated by a fire company member which enhance the weight distribution of equipment on the vehicle.
We would like to thank our membership for their hard work on this project, and Apple Auto Sales for making this a reality.
The new brush is now in service and hopefully it will serve the company well for many years to come. |
