Atglen Borough Apartment Building

Today at 13:42, Station 52, along with mutual aid companies were dispatched for an apartment building fire at 212 Main Street, Apt.2 in Atglen Borough, Chester County. Engine 521 arrived at 13:49 reporting smoke from the 2nd Floor of side "A" , advancing attack line to 2nd floor. Engine-Tanker 52 arrived at 13:50 to complete the water supply. Ladder 8 and Truck 42 both laddered the building with Rescue 8, Rescue 42 & Rescue 27 handling the RIT team, Ventilation , and supplemented a manpower pool. The fire was quickly knocked down , marking control @ 14:05. Fire Damage was held to one bedroom with smoke damage throughout. This fire displaced a family of five including two very small children. The Red Cross was notified & were making arrangements for this family. The fire was deemed accidental , electrical in nature. Incident was complete at 15:14 , with 3 fire officers & 17 firefighters present.
