Station 52 volunteers were dispatched at 06:47 A.M. to 104 N. Christiana Ave. for the inside investigation. As Engine 52-1 ( Capt. Stoltzfus )went responding, Capt. Lofgren arrived on scene with smoke showing. After further investigation, it was determined the crew was facing a working kitchen fire. Lancaster County Wide Communications were notified to " Fill the Box " bringing Tanker 52-1, Station 42 ( Gap ) full company, Station 8 ( Keystone Valley ) for Rescue 8, and Station 45 ( Kinzer ) for the additional tanker.

Engine 52-1 layed in from Pine Creek Drive to the scene, which was picked up by Tanker 52-1 ( Kellon ). The interior crew quickly had water on the fire containing it to the room of origin. Fire was placed under control at 07:11 A.M. and as usual all crews worked together very well.

Although the fire was brought under control very quickly, smoke damage was very extensive thru out the residence. Our thoughts are for the family in this time of devastation.
