The Christiana Fire Company wishes to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Chief William R. L. Winters Sr as well as the many fire companies he has served.

Many members of the CFC have reflected on past memories of Bill as he led the neighboring Atglen Fire Company for 46 years. In those 46 years, many of us here at CFC have been touched in some way by Chief Winters. With service to the fire community for over 50 years, Bill was a lifetime member of multiple departments as well as a dispatcher at Chester County 911 for a number of years. Whether it was a subtle tug of the coat tail or a verbal communication, Bill was never hesitant on instructing and helping a friend out. His knowledge of the fire service surpassed many and you always could say you learned something from him.

Rest in peace Chief Winters. You will be missed!
