Lancaster County was hit by a serious winter storm which spread heavy wind and rain.

Local streams filled very quickly and at 21:01 hours, Station 52 was dispatched for a water rescue in the area of 64 Christiana Pike.

Three adults and one child found themselves stranded in high water.

The six person crew with Engine 52-1 (Captain Stoltzfus) was able to extricate the victims within 10 minutes.

Squad 52-1 (Captain Lofgren) arrive on scene as well and provided traffic/scene control with some of our Fire Police.

All units cleared the scene at 21:15 hours and returned to quarters with the occupants of the vehicle. Once back in station, alternative transportation arrangements were made for the occupants.

Christiana Fire Company reminds all of our community that it is not a good idea to drive through roadways that are flooded. Remember "Turn Around - Don't Drown" so you do not become a victim.
