Mid-Evening Accident in Sadsbury Township

At 20:21 hours, the 2312 box was hit for an auto accident with possible entrapment in the area of 5643 Strasburg Road in Sadsbury Township. As part of the dispatch assignments, Rescue 42 (Gap Fire Company) was also alerted. Lancaster County 911 advised at least 2 vehicles involved with possible 2 injuries.

Deputy Chief 52 (Fisher) arrived on location within seconds after dispatch (20:21) to find two vehicles involved with one on its side with two occupants confined to the vehicles.

Rescue 42 hit the road at 20:24 with Engine 52-1 following at 20:25. First arriving units worked to stabilize and de-power the vehicles as a door-pop maneuver was was done to aid in the removal of the doors for access to patients by EMS. Tanker 52-1 went enroute at 20:28 and Squad 42-1 followed at 20:32 to help provide manpower to the scene to assist as needed.

Patients were transferred over to the care of EMS (Christiana Ambulance (46), White Horse Ambulance (49) and 2 medic units from LEMSA) and transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

Station 52 units remained on the scene for clean up and removal of vehicles until 21:32 when all apparatus went back into service and available.
