Tuesday morning at 0502hrs, Christiana volunteers were alerted for a 2nd alarm dwelling assist run to Keystone Valley Fire in neighboring Chester County. Initial reports had Keystone Valley, Cochranville and Sadsburyville fire departments being called out to 334 Main Street in Parkesburg Borough. Within minutes of the initial alarm the request for the 2nd alarm was hit due to the working fire and possible entrapment.

Engine 52-1 (Captain Stoltzfus) responded with a crew of 6 quickly followed by Tanker 52-1 (Lieutenant Miller) with a crew of 5 personnel. On arrival both crews immediately went to work assisting with fire suppression, ventilation and overhaul. Christiana crews worked several hours on the scene before making themselves available just before 0800hrs.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tragic events of this mornings fire.

Special thanks to Kinzer Fire Company and Tanker 45’s crew for the cover transfer while we were working in Chester County.
