A multi run Friday had the volunteers from Christiana feeling the heat this afternoon and early evening. Things kicked off with a Pumper Tanker transfer alert for Tanker 52-1 to cover Avondale Fire units as they were out working a large 2 ½ story single family dwelling fire just north of the Delaware State line. Minutes after dispatch Tanker 52-1 streeted with 4 personnel enroute to station 23.

Avondale units along with several southern Chesco and Delaware units had their hands full with the 1pm dispatch. Crews arrived to find a working fire on side C extending into the 2nd floor. First in crews made an aggressive attack to hold the damage to a minimum. Extra units including Tanker 52-1 were then brought in as manpower dwindled fast in the high heat. Tanker 52-1 made their response change around the Cochranville area and made their way to the scene arriving several minutes later. Christiana members joined many others in the manpower pool before being put to work with Salvage and Overhaul in the garage area of the structure. Tanker 52-1 was released a couple hours later returning to Christiana just after 4pm.

The third alert of the day had the volley’s responding to a 2 vehicle MVA at the intersection of Upper Valley and Swan Roads in the Atglen Borough part of the district. Crews arrived and controlled hazards while EMS tended to patients. 52 cleared this incident and returned to station just after the 8pm.
