On Monday, May 11th the volunteers from Station 52 ventured out to Orchard Buck Road to review hydrant training and deploying hose lines from the Engine.

Crews departed station at 6:30 pm and watched Engine 52-1 with a crew of senior firefighters demonstrate the proper way to deploy a 5" supply line from a forward lay aspect to a fire scene. Once completed, the crews debriefed the training and then they were broken up into crews to run through it for practice.

Captain Stoltzfus organized the learning experience and comments from the firefighters was that it was an informational exercise that was fun and taught them new things.

Training is an important part of being a volunteer firefighter and the time the members of Station 52 spend each Monday night helps ensure that our community gets a well qualified and trained crew when they require our services.

Thanks to Captain Stoltzfus for putting this together for the members!!
