We were challenged by the Gap Fire Company to the ALS water challenge.

"ALS" often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease" is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Muscle control movement is lost, with later stages patients can become totally paralyzed and eventually leads to their death.

We would like to dedicate this challenge to Bruce Wenger, past Deputy Chief of Gap Fire Company, who passed earlier this year. And to Keith Williams of Atglen Borough, Father of member Rob Williams.

We have nominated Wagontown, Refton and Cochranville Fire Companies for the ALS Challenge.

About 20+ members came out to our training night on Monday, September 29, 2014 to complete the challenge.

We will be donating $250.00 to the ALS Association (www.alsa.org) as well.

We wish the crews from Refton, Cochranville and Wagontown the best in meeting this challenge AND HAVE FUN GUYS!!!
