The day started for Christiana crews with a Silo Fire dispatch to assist Cochranville Fire (Chester Station 27) at 433 Gum Tree Road in West Fallowfield Township, Chester County. Reporting parties indicated smoke coming from the doors on a 68’ Concrete Silo. First arriving Cochranville units confirmed the report and immediately began evaluations as to addressing the fire. Tanker 52-1 (Asst Buckwalter) was due on the card, dispatched and responding moments later with a crew of seven (7) personnel. Tanker 52-2 (Captain Lofgren) also made the response. On arrival 52 Tankers staged on the hard road awaiting instructions. Deputy 27 instructed Tanker 52-2 to remain on the scene to supply water if needed while Tanker 52-1 with its crew was sent to Keystone Central station to cover local territories of Keystone and Westwood. Tanker 52-1 and crew remained at the Parkesburg station until released at 1530hrs. Tanker 52-2 was also released from the fire scene just before at 1522hrs.
