The day started for Christiana crews with a Silo Fire dispatch to assist Cochranville Fire (Chester Station 27) at 433 Gum Tree Road in West Fallowfield Township, Chester County. Reporting parties indicated smoke coming from the doors on a 68’ Concrete Silo. First arriving Cochranville units confirmed the report and immediately began evaluations as to addressing the fire. Tanker 52-1 (Asst Buckwalter) was due on the card, dispatched and responding moments later with a crew of seven (7) personnel. Tanker 52-2 (Captain Lofgren) also made the response. On arrival 52 Tankers staged on the hard road awaiting instructions.

Deputy 27 instructed Tanker 52-2 to remain on the scene to supply water if needed while Tanker 52-1 with its crew was sent to Keystone Central station to cover local territories of Keystone and Westwood. Tanker 52-1 and crew remained at the Parkesburg station until released at 1530hrs. Tanker 52-2 was also released from the fire scene just before at 1522hrs.

The final run came in at 1843hrs for a working Barn Fire assist to Avondale Fire (Chester Station 23) at 303 Newark Road in New Garden Township, Chester County.

Dispatched and enroute at 1843rs, it didn’t take long to arrive and start assisting in water supply operations. Working several hours hauling and supplying water had Tanker 52-2 finally clearing the scene at 2112hrs.
