Late Afternoon MVA in Atglen Boro

At 15:38hrs, the Christiana FC was tapped out for a class 2 MVA in our first due Atglen Borough box 2313. Initial calls reported the accident to be in the area of Swan Road and Rte 41 in Atglen Borough. Follow up calls to 911 had the accident involving possible entrapment causing LCWC to re-alert for the upgrade. Chief 52 (Reimold) went enroute moments later receiving the additional.

Engine 52-1 (Safety Maser) went enroute with a crew of 6 followed by Tanker 52-1 (Moore) and Squad 52-1 (Chief Engineer Manley). Chief 52 took the Swan Road portion of the boro while Engine 52-1 responded to the Route 41 corridor. Further investigations determined the accident to be north of the 372 intersection on Route 41 in Atglen Borough. Due to the upgrade, Keystone Rescue 8 was alerted for the assist.

Engine 52-1 arrived first to find a two car accident with blocking and one on its roof, all patients out. Christiana EMS arrived and took over patient assessment while 52' crews controlled hazards. Tanker 52-1 Squad 52-1 and Rescue 8 arrived to provide assistance while crews awaited PSP and a tow.

Traffic control by 8, 42 and 52 worked a single lane until Null’s Towing arrived to hook both vehicles.

Crews cleared the scene and went available at 16:38hrs.
