At 1012hrs Sunday morning, Christiana Fire was alerted as part of the Tanker Task Force Assist to 1401 Homeville Road in Cochranville, Chester County. Cochranville, Union Oxford and Bart Township fire units had been dispatched minutes earlier for a reported house fire at that location. Assistant 27 (Harris) marked up and received the additional as well as the 911 center reporting multiple callers. The working fire was requested hearing the reports followed by the tanker task force request.

Tanker 52-1 (Deputy Fisher) and Tanker 52-2 (Asst Buckwalter) made the response immediately followed soon after by Engine 52-1 (Captain Lofgren). Tanker crews arrived and jumped in on the water supply operations while available crew members were sent to manpower staging. Christiana crews were tapped immediately for suppression work assisting 27, 21 and 51 members. Arrival of Engine 52-1 brought additional manpower and a staging officer in Captain 1 (Lofgren). All crews worked several hours locating and extinguishing hotspots throughout.

With the fire under control and water usage down to minimum, Tanker 2 was released while holding Tanker 1 and Engine 1 for the manpower. Crews continued the mop up and overhaul work until released at 1424hrs.

Thanks to Engine 49-1 for the cover while we were out.
