Friday Coverage

A pre-arranged Pumper Tanker transfer to Avondale Fire was on the docket for early Friday morning as their members attended funeral services for fellow firefighter Mike Predmore of the West Grove Fire Company.

Christiana members stood by for several hours before being alerted at 1223hrs for a reported dwelling fire at 1512 Baltimore Pike in New Garden Township. Additional units from Avondale, West Grove (E51-1, Truck 42), Longwood, Kennett Square and Hockessin were also due. Arrival of Chief 23 reported smoke from the dwelling with a possible kitchen fire. Tanker 52-1 arrived and stretched a line finding a small fire in the kitchen. After a quick knock and some minor overhaul, Tanker 52-1 was clear of the house fire at 1249hrs reporting back to the 23 house to finish out the cover.

Christiana units clear of station 23 at 1421hrs.

Our thoughts and prayers to the Predmore and West Grove FC families in this difficult time.
