Helicopter flight for injured farm worker |

| On Wednesday evening at 1853 hours, Squad 5-2 was alerted to 132 Christiana Pike in Sadsbury Township to assist EMS with the medical local for an injured farm worker. Fire Chief 5-2 (Reimold) and the Squad (Buckwalter) made the response at dispatch and were given additional information by LCWC that the victim was struck by a farm implement and a aero-medical helicopter was being placed on standby due to the severity of the call. Engine 5-2-1 was also added to the incident to establish the landing zone. Engine 5-2-1 (Fisher) made the response with 6 men, followed by Brush 5-2 (Yost) with two. Christiana fire crews set up a landing zone and assisted EMS units on scene with patient packaging and moving the victim onboard the helicopter to be transported to the local trauma center. Fire Chief 5-2 cleared the fire units from the scene at 1917 hours. |
