Parkesburg VFW Memorial Day Parade

On Sunday our fire company participated in the annual Parkesburg VFW Post 4480's Memorial Day parade.

Every year, the VFW holds a parade and ceremony to remember those we have lost fighting for our Country. The day began with a ceremony at the monument on Main Street in Parkesburg, followed by a parade down Main Street to Culvert Street and to First Avenue, and finally ending at the Parkesburg Fire Company.

The VFW Post is very active in community support and provides funding to many of our local fire companies. This was proven by the large turnout by Fire and EMS apparatus today. In addition to Christiana, the Parkesburg Fire Company, Modena Fire Company, Cochranville Fire Company, Westwood Fire Company, Wagontown Fire Company, Atglen Fire Company, and Pomeroy Fire Company were all in attendance.

We are proud each year to participate in this parade in remembrance of those who have given their lives for us.

A very special thank you to the Parkesburg VFW for your annual contributions and continued support of the volunteer fire companies.
