Pumper/Tanker Transfers to Westwood

On May 2nd, the Pumper/Tanker headed down to Chester County Station 44 for a scheduled relocate assignment. Westwood Fire Company Assistant Chief Sly requested Tanker 5-2-1 to cover the fire district, while their members attended the 61st annual fire company banquet held at the Coatesville Country Club. RV Fire on Strasburg Rd

At 14:28 hrs, the Company was alerted to assist Station 4-2 (Gap) on the mobile home fire with a burn victim at 5592 Strasburg Rd, in Sadsbury Township. Tankers from 26 (Atglen) and 4-5 (Kinzer) were also due at this incident since there is no nearby water supply, and Rescue 27 (Cochranville) for RIT. Monday night training this week was hydrant operations. This is part of a 3 week long pump refresher course for all of our driver/pump operators. Deputy 5-2 (Reimold) led tonights drill, and reviewed hydrant operations with Engine 5-2-1. Crews talked about hydrant connections, and the overall functions of hydrants in Christiana Borough. ...
