On Wednesday, August 14th, at 21:29 hours, Station 52 along with our first alarm Mutual Aid companies were dispatched for a barn fire at 1143 Gap Road in Sadsbury Township. As units were responding, reports of a " glow in the sky from 2 miles out" was broadcast over the radio which brought a request of 4 additional tankers. At 21:35 Asst. Chief Reimold ( Duty Officer ) arrived on location with a 40 X 100 Ft. storage barn with an estimated 400 plus large bales of hay fully involved. Multiple hand lines along with a ladder pipe ( Truck 42 ) brought the fire under control at 22:38. Extensive overhaul with heavy machinery lasted into the early morning hours with operating companies clearing the scene at 04:00 hours.
