At 1450hrs Thursday afternoon Christiana Fire was being alerted for a Dwelling fire assist to KVFD at 401 Zook Road in West Sadsbury Township, Chester County. Engine 52-1, Tanker 52-1 and Truck 42 (Gap) were on the initial dispatch for the response out of Lancaster County
Engine 52-1 quickly staffed with a crew of 5 with 4 Interior capable personnel and were the first apparatus in the drive followed by Truck 42 and Tanker 52-1. A 5” inch supply line was quickly established by Tanker 52-1 to the Engine for additional water if needed. Deputy 8 (Cazillo) who arrived just before Engine 1, assumed the Zook Road command requesting the working fire dispatch. Crews encountered smoke from both interior and exterior “C” side of the structure. 52 crews split and stretched lines to the interior 2nd floor and the exterior “C” side knocking visible fire. 42 crews arrived followed by Keystone units and all personnel worked to bring the event to a close.
