Barn in East Drumore Township

On Tuesday December 6, 2011 at 1:46pm Station 5-2 volunteers were alerted to assist Quarryville fire deparment on a working barn fire at 224 Blackburn Rd in East Drumore Township. Station 5-7 made the response and were advised by LCWC of multiple calls reporting a working fire. With the infomation given Engine 5-7-4 requested an upgrade to a 2nd alarm fire box assignment.

Engine 5-7-4 arrived and reported a working fire and laid a supply line in from a pond located along the main driveway to the farm.

Rescue 5-7 arrived and laid a second 1000 ft of supply line to the scene.

Tanker 5-2-2 made the response at 1:48 along with Tanker 5-2-1. Per command 5-7 all incoming units were to stage on on the hard road.

Tanker 5-2-1 crew members went to the scene with packs and hand tools. Chief 5-7 made an additional request for tanker 5-2-1 crew to go back to Station 5-7 to standby with Tanker 5-9. Members from 5-2 helped with clean up and were released from Station 5-7.

Station 5-2 would like to thank Chester County Tanker 26 for the standby at our station to cover any additional calls in our frist due or to asst our mutusl aid companies.
